Aircraft Dual Mode LightsAircraft Dual Mode Lights
Aveo invented the world’s first LED aircraft lights without power supplies 20 years ago. Aveo then developed the world’s first dual-mode Visible and IR lights for defense aircraft. The first premium customer for these products was General Atomics for their Predator UAVs.
Aveo also developed fully NVIS-compatible white lights such as landing, taxi, searchlights, hoist lights and tail position lights as well as interior map and reading lights.
Aveo eventually developed its own IR emitters, to replace the commercial products made primarily in China with higher power, but more importantly more exacting wavelength emitting widths to provide the cleanest IR pattern in the world. Also, we developed dual and quad chips pairing white and NVIS on the same emitter module.
Aveo also makes NVIS binoculars/goggles and multi-spectral NVIS cameras. This knowledge and skill is only held by a handful of companies globally.
When you see an Aveo dual mode light, such as the now industry famous StealthViz™ or SuperNova 3AL/FACL lights, you immediately realize there is nothing in the market close to Aveo’s performance, weight, electronics, and drag profiles.
Aveo lights have been on two NASA Moon Lander missions to the South Pole of the Moon, in 2024 and 2025.
Aveo is also on the Space Taxi to the ISS and the Virgin Galactic Spaceship, all extremely harsh environments no other lighting company’s products can survive. (Must be all their Chinese parts 🤣 )
Aveo is extremely vertically integrated in every aspect of its design, development, manufacturing, and testing. That is why we hold the major market share in every sector of aerospace where Aveo competes. All our testing is done by independent, fully EASA and NATO certified laboratories, unlike our self-testing competition.

For those customers with no need for NVIS emitters, Aveo has the highest performing lights (with non-Chinese parts ) in its manufacturing portfolio. The white lights are also NVIS-compatible . Unlike our competitors and other aircraft under NVIS gear, they are not harmed by Aveo lights.
Aveo has developed lights for virtually every aviation OEM platform in both the civil and military sectors, many with only Minor Mods and STCs. Aveo also partnered with many police, fire, EMS, Air Ambulance and offshore helicopter and fixed wing operators to design the most robust, brightest and lightest-weight products in the world, obtaining TSOs when required. Aveo also works in partnership with OEMs to develop many custom lights dedicated to specific missions and crew needs and based upon their unique operating environments.

Aveo designed its first searchlight for the S-76 helicopter back in 2014. LED technology was weak at that time, but Aveo continued to invest and develop as they progressed. One of Aveo’s more amazing technologies is in thermal management. It goes to the very core of our materials research and development of advanced materials where we practically eliminate any need for heat sinking fins, and we never use fans, no matter the intensity of heat. This capability is part of our more than 200 patents.
By making our own emitters and using advanced materials that Aveo developed and exclusively possesses, in addition to our own circuitry, machining, and custom optics etc. (ALL NOT MADE IN CHINA) has made it very easy to eclipse legacy manufacturers who are now unable to technically compete. From commercial airliners to business jets, to every brand and model of helicopters, with more than 85% of the UAV industry, general aviation and electric aircraft, AVEO is THE primary producer. Our quality, performance and no-NRE development policy lead the way.
We are your partner for the life of your airframes.
The Aveo Phoenix high performance pods are unique to the helicopter world and are fully protected by USA and International Patents. They come in two mounting methods, the first is a simple slide on and off as desired using the common MeekerMount™ system already installed on many helicopters. The second is as a drop-in replacement for the belly panel on the helicopter airframe.
This pod is more than just lighting. It is a comprehensive 360º around and below lighting solution that turns night into day. Phoenix lights in the pod contain searchlights at unprecedented intensity and distance, landing, taxi, scene lights on both sides, hover, hoist and rear rotor illumination, PLUS cameras all the way around in combinations of SWIR, LWIR (thermal) and Color Day; all made by Aveo. The Phoenix Pod features Aveo illuminators that give the pilot and crew SWIR vision through snow, fog, rain, dust, and smoke at night!!!! Only from Aveo.
Many customers also develop their own mounting method, with full engineering and analysis support for free from Aveo.
Aveo also makes smaller pods customized for your aircraft or UAV which contain any of the Aveo cameras, IR or dual mode lighting, Aveo micro radars or LIDAR, and the complete control joysticks or tablet/smartphone apps. These are designed and built free of NRE specific to each airframe and mission. Just drop us a note!!!
Aveo DroneV™ Lightweight Drone LightsAveo DroneV™ Lightweight Drone Lights
Aveo also invented the world’s smallest and lightest 3-in-1 and 4-in-1 lights specifically meant for the low weight, low power draw, and special requirements for Drone lighting standards; which we eclipse by multiple factors in distance and intensity. Our competition has tried to copy Aveo products but with products sourced in China and/or with Chinese components (We have the Bills of Lading to prove it).
The DroneV™ 4-in-1 was specifically built for an additional IR strobe function to go along with a normal strobe or full 3-in-1 light. DroneV™ tiny strobes-only are also available.
